Have you ever wondered how Runescape Private Servers got to the way we know them today? The first private server ever created was known as WinterLove, originally the developer wanted to create a client to test and deploy cheats for Runescape on but it turned into something much more then that. In the days when WinterLove was developed the botting scene was just getting started and bot creators needed a way to test bots so they used WinterLove to test the scripts.
We’ve all been approached by that one sketchy Runescape player who tries to get you to go into the wilderness to get “free stuff”. Most people don’t fall for it but the few noobs that do aren’t greeted with anything free and are most likely greeted with a bunch of ice barrages or 10 people running out to attack you. The logic behind these people trying to lure is so simple and so flawed, if they where quitting why not just give the stuff away, why do you need them to go into the wilderness? Let us know of any funny stories you have of someone trying to lure you.
If you where around the Runescape Private Server scene when it was first starting you had a bunch of different clients and sources that you could use and play on. One of the very popular options was Winterlove. The developer of Winterlove initially created it to be used to assist him in cheating on actual Runescape but then later turned it into a private server that many people could play. More specifically Winterlove was created to test different types of automation software for Runescape that we now know as bots. We all know now that it evolved into something much much larger. Below are some screenshots of Winterlove.
