Well I haven't been here in AGES but when I heard it got jacked up I decided to come by and take a look and I noticed it was running vBulletin.
I am not a big fan of vBulletin and never have been(I don't want to have to subscribe to my own threads it should just show replies to them, etc).

So yeah, I say switch back to SMF or at least choose a better forum software.

vB is perfectally fine, however SMF is free and more powerful (on a paid host)

IPBoard is better. but vBulletin is more safe than any other forum software just to say.

I love SMF forum software. Just most people these days like vBulletin more than SMF; they think it's way more professional. I've seen many SMF Forums that look better than vBulletin. It's simply how you're able to customize SMF etc. I doubt they'll switch back to SMF now though.

I do agree, I don't like it how it subscribes to threads, but besides that it's fine.

Smf is good but vbulletin like you said is more secure.

Not really, I've found more vulnerabilities in vB 3.8.x than in SMF 2.0

I do agree, I don't like it how it subscribes to threads, but besides that it's fine.

Yeah that's the only feature that REALLY bugs me.

SMF Is best free forum software but less secure. MyBB is recommended for saftely. best for paid forum software is IPBoard but vBulletin is more secured and safe.
