We have a linux dedicated server at our rsps. Ever since we switched randomly players got reset. Like their whole account got deleted and we have to restore is through the backup folder. Now this is a lot of work because we maintain around 100 players on at all times, and about 10 people get reset every day and only 2 staff members know how to restore accounts. We also have to load up on winscp like one- hundred-thousand character files, which takes ages. So can someone explain to me why this is happening and how can we fix this?

Is this server related? And why use linux?(unless you have linux i mean, if you have windows use windows). Plox, also i recommend moving this to maybe the help section instead? Ill report it to see if i a mod will move it for you. Cheers

Maybe you should ask from your Dedi service... its definetly not server-sided, unless its somekind of anti-leech(this means you're leecher and should die.)

Also, linux was cheaper and we know linux 100x better than windows. TBH windows is jail.

Nah bro, we have a pr0 coder, he coded the whole thing himself. Well, not the whole thing I'm pretty sure he downloaded a base and coded up from that. Like a blank source, all the files where there but they where all empty but the client.java and a few others.
LOL at this. Anyways if Ramsin says it's server sided, it's most likely server sided.

It is server sided, and if it's not, you have a memory leak, and if you do, have fun fixing that, if your files get randomly corrupt/deleted, contact the provider of your dedicated server to make sure that it's not, and if it's not, just write a better save method, chances are it's just the saving/loading method.

Of course it's server sided, it's not client sided is it?
You should do a test run on a different server for a while to see if you still get the same problems. It's more likely to be the code than the server itself (maybe something is windows dependent?), but the only way to find out is to test it. We can't just guess your exact problem and solution..

I agree.. I think it is the the character saving :D Check your file for character saving because I don't know the name of it for RSC.. :/.

This thread isn't here for your opinion.
Btw, Gameplay > Graphics
It's like saying you don't think RuneScape is worth anything. It has shitty graphics compared to WOW yet you still play it.

I have to agree with that. Graphics may be a major part in a game, however, gameplay will always come first.

Why not Contact Linus Customer Services?
They would give you all of the Customer Support you could possibly ask for, It's just a suggestion.
Try Resetting The whole of the Characters? Possibly, that could help.
