Approximately 30 minutes ago my entire house and many many others were shaken by a registered 5.5 earthquake. At the time I was sleeping, so I didnt feel a shake but my mother was the only one home and she was pretty freaked out. We havnt had any after-shocks but some people have.

Well isn't that odd. What was the last recorded earthquake in that area?

Holy fucking shit look at this:
The last moderate earthquake in the region occurred on Sept. 25, 1998, when a magnitude 5.4 earthquake, centred just south of Lake Erie, rattled dishes and shook floors across Southern Ontario. A magnitude 5 quake shook the area 12 years earlier, in January 1986.

Its almost like these quakes happen in increments of 12 years?

Ya, I thought it was odd. There aren't any tectonic plates colliding in that area, so the cause is something else.
