Hello,

I am introducing a new debate topic, "Karma."

For anyone who doesn't know what karma means, from my understanding, it is basically if you do something bad(good), something bad(good) will happen to you. I put parenthesis, so if you do something good, you will get good in return, not bad -> good.

Anyways, here is the Wikipedia definition:
Karma (Sanskrit: कर्म IPA: [ˈkərmə];[1] Pali: kamma) in Indian religions is the concept of "action" or "deed", understood as that which causes the entire cycle of cause and effect (i.e., the cycle called saṃsāra) originating in ancient India and treated in Hindu, Jain, Buddhist and Sikh philosophies.[2]

I do believe in karma, not the religious way as Indians do, but I believe in that if I do something wrong, I would get something bad in return. Or if I have a shitty day, the next day will be bad. (not really karma.)

Do you believe in karma, and do you think it can cause good or bad things when you do something good or bad?

I highly believe in it.
Once in a while I walk up and playfully yell "Boo!" at my mother, and less than 10 seconds later I ALWAYS walk into a wall, stub my toe, ect.

I definatly believe in Karma.

I have plenty of experiences with dear, Karma. I don't believe, "If you have a bad day, the next one will be bad". I think If your day is crap, your next day will be good.

"What comes around, goes around"

I believe it can be possible, but I also take it as coincidence as it doesn't always happen.

I also believe,

Everything happens for a reason. Or "Fate".

Also have had plenty of experiences with this.

It's real and not real. It's like 50/50 chance something will happen to you. I don't really think it happens because of karma but sometimes something does happen.

Well you can't believe something half way, that would just mean you believe in coincidence and luck (or in some cases unlucky.) Personally I don't believe in Karma.

I believe its only coincidence and that you only notice what you want to notice as being good/bad...

^^Seems to make more sense in my head than in text lol

I don't believe in for the fact there's people who are the nicest people imaginable but only bad things happen. I don't think Karma exists but that's my own opinion there's no proof for it actually existing, if someone provides me proof I'll gladly give karma a chance.

Yes,i do believe in Karma,i always help people, people help me in return.
But some time people help some one,the next day something happens you need help, the guy you helped with help you, this might make a conflict (JUST a example).
But yea,i do really believe in karma.
Heres a true story;
I was playing soccer, the kid tripped me,so i kicked the ball into his face (i do have temper sometimes...),just a minute after that, two kids were racing, when i looked back they crashed into me,and i broke my arm.
So yea...i do believe in it.

This example is strictly for the purposes of this debate, and not to be used to discuss other matters such as religion.

A baby die moments after taking its first lung full of air.

Where does karma fit into this situation? You can't just pick and choose where you place karma, or the system doesn't work. What did the baby do so bad in the few seconds of life it had, that it had to die for it? Where does fate fit into this situation, since someone mentioned it. Was it the fate of the baby to die few seconds after it is given life?

Now you can defend karma by saying the mother could have done some horrible things, and as negitive karma her child was taken from her. Why does the child suffer in this situation.

As per fate, it is arguable that the child would have suffered great loss and pain, or was 'evil' which is why he wasn't given the chance to live.

But the whole belief in this contridics itself, in the sense that the baby in this situation isn't able to redeem the mother's sins, while the mother's sin can control the life of another being. More so, if the baby was to grow up and become evil, or suffer great pain why doesn't 'fate' change this instead of taking the life of what can only be justified as an innocent child.

i don't believe in karma, people do bad things all the time and nothing hit them in the end, or someone is doing everything good but all days shitty for him

Do you account all aspects of their lives? Just a made up statement with no justification. Yes people do bad things all the time, but how do you know nothing hits them in the end. If your going to make a statement justify it with proof or an example, this is an intelligent debate afterall.
