inb4: Wow nerds...

Think of the reasons why they would do this, its a newly released game and 100 original sealed copies can be sold for like $40 which is $20 off what they cost in stores so even if they sell them for $40 do the math.

$40 x 100 = $4,000.

They're pretty smart in my opinion.

It's 60 x 100 = 6,000. Why waste your time stealing games when you can just burn it like me?

No its not $60 x 100. They would make no money selling them for retail price, so if they sell them for $40 each they will have a lot more people willing to buy brand new Black ops for $20 off retail price.

Also why steal games when you can just burn it?

edit; why not just burn it? Because people don't want bootlegged games they want the real thing, It's also risky to bootleg (I don't want you to explain to me the process of how you don't get caught).

What part of $4,000 don't you understand?

and for a gamer

$40 or $60?

You would pick $40.

Think about it... use common sense.

Why'd you risk going to jail for like 15 years for a $100 game, ROFL.

So $4,000 or 15 years in jail?

15 x (Average Yearly Wage of a minimum wage job = $400,000?)

No one would buy from the same price as GameStop, EG 40$ each.

Would take like 1 week to sell all the stolen games.

Jail for Armed Robbery = 15 Years minimum.

15 Years in Jail or work full time for 15 years?

WASTE 15 years in jail or work full time for 15 years earning about quarter of a Million in those 15 years. Minimum Wage = 7$. $7x 40 hours a week -for a year = 15k a year.
15k a year x 15 = $218, 400.

So they wasting $218,400 for $6,000 and 15 years WASTED behind bars.

Jail for Armed Robbery = 15 Years minimum.

15 Years in Jail or work full time for 15 years?

WASTE 15 years in jail or work full time for 15 years earning about half a Million in those 15 years. Minimum Wage = 7$. $7x 40 hours a week -for a year = 15k a year.
15k a year x 15 = $218, 400.

So they wasting $218,400 for $6,000 and 15 years WASTED behind bars.

They don't want to work because they are morons. They'd rather risk 15 years in jail to make some cash then work for that long for a lot of cash.

Evo7
November 9th, 2010, 23:21
My point exactly. Lol.

Rather work 5 months than steal games and get locked up for 15-20 years of my life.

The police have a lot more import things to do than go undercover to bust someone selling video games, also they wouldn't be on the street corner "Yo, want to buy some CoD shits so cash."

You obviously don't get it... Some people want the easy way, and some people actually do stuff like this because they need the money, I doubt it was like that in this situation however. But you talk like they are already going to be caught, most robberies that the person gets away in have about 2 days and then it becomes almost impossible to catch them. It's not like they're going to be on Americas most wanted because a bunch of 12 year old kids couldn't get their game. Also your math is totally off seeing how their are MANY, MANY variables to take into consideration with work, also make a quarter million dollars on paper, that is not counting income taxes, health insurance, social security, all that out of your pay check, plus the money you will spend on room and board.

Stealing is one of the best ways to get rich, and it's not like you're busted for sure. They're obviously not employed either not able too, you also need to put in other variables such as other crimes they have committed before. This was a extremely idea because it's a supply and demand situation for gamers, so they would be sold easily.

Than you obviously need a nice big dose of reality.

People take short time gain and high risk than long time gain and low risk.

You people have no idea how people sell stolen goods do you..? Why would someone buy a stolen game at retail value? I am not talking about gamestop selling it at $60 but someone who stole it would want to get rid of the evidence as quick as possible while still making money. Nobody is going to pay full price for a game from somebody instead of going to gamestop. They would sell it in the range of $40-$50 because its cheaper and most people will buy a brand new game for $10-$20 off retail price than paying that +$10-$20 for the game at a retail store.
