Possible to build a Mac

Instead of paying the $1000 price for a Mac, is it possible to build one just like a PC?

Yes, it is possible. You would just build it like a normal windows pc but install Mac OS X instead =)

You can install OSX on a PC - it's called 'Hackintosh'

However, there are some problems:

Getting it to work/install can be a PITA.
Getting drivers is almost impossible.
It's illegal.

Fail, of course it's legal to build your own PC.

It's illegal to install OSX onto a system that isn't 'verified' by apple.

Your sig's fine for me, but I got a 1080p monitor - might annoy people with smaller screens.
