Beta is made to have the players waiting for the original version, and to test the bugs.

You could compress all that severely, + application files shouldn't really be big, it should be mainly the models and all that take up space which should be compressed so people won't have to download so much. WoW is 4gb cos it's just a shitload of amazingness + their maps are incredible.

I recomend making a .exe, or installer.
Í dled and un-rared in less than 30 mins.

I log in fine, i click on my character and press enter (or w/e it is) and then it closes down and a message comes up saying could not set graphics option (around about)

A little question: Does it rely on Win32 APIs a lot, or is it in something like OpenGL that is available for Linux? I can play on Windows, but dual-booting out of Linux (where I do all my development and web browsing) would be a little bit of a annoyance. Just a idea: If you were to port to Linux, the GTK+ or Qt libraries would be very useful :).

Unfortunatly, Linux doesn't support the PE (Portable Executable) or DLL (Dynamic Link Library) formats that Windows applications use. I'll make an attempt at it on Wine (a Windows compatibility layer for X Desktop for Linux) and tell you if it works.

If you wish to have a developer to help with porting, I'll try and do it for free. Currently, I work for a large defense company as IT, and know Java, C++, C#, C, Pascal, COBOL, Visual Basic (EOnly the registered members can see the link. :P,) and many more, including scripting languages such as Lua, Python, Ruby, etc. so if you wanted to add a sort of 'modding API' that people could use, I could help with that.

It may not be as JP (owner and host) is offline at the moment.
As we are currently in BETA the server will be offline for the majority of the day and only open when JP and Evan decide it needs some testing.

I'm sorry :(. We are working on it all the time. We found the Dc's and lag problems, had some problems with the kill-point and banking system. Evan is rewriting them and fixing these. Small problems can cause lots of lag.

EDIT: And surreal, I'm not the FULL owner of this, Me and Evan are. I don't take full ownership of this as myself.

Even more exciting news today is that BETA should be released either today or tomorrow and we shouldn't have any disconnection and lagg issues.
Thanks to our founders/developers JP and Evan for BETA being released as I know they have been working extremely hard on it and have developed some new cities and models.
