Current Status: Resolved
I believe I've found a solution for hotmail users:
Firstly, click here: Only the registered members can see the link.
Secondly, try the alternative email and recovery questions - if these don't work or you've already tried this click continue.
Next, follow the instructions given to reclaim ownership of your account.
Tell me how it goes.

One of the major problems here, Users have used there real password for the Email Accounts. I wish you all luck, and at the same time hope you can learn from this.
Do not use your real password for things such as your Email Account, Paypal Account, Ebay Account, Ect...

What exactly is happening Toon? Was there a leak of the database? Someone found a vulnerability?
This is only from the toplist right? All my passwords are very strong lol.
Always use a different password for everything.

Correct, It was a leak of the Database.
It can also be blamed on the SQL Injection.

Someone has SQL injected random toplist pages, which has caused all this.

Ikiliki already knows who did it, and it's been handled to the best of his ability. The database information from last night being spread out is not important anymore, since he has reset all the Toplist passwords.

The site was rushed, therefore vulnerable, that's why someone injected the site, got the database and managed to get all the emails.

Ikiliki obviously does NOT know who hacked it because I know who is about to fuck the site over completely. This is completely un-acceptable. I thought the new forums would be a fresh start but tbh I think that this was the consequence of laziness. Why was the toplist so vulnerable that everyones passwords were compromised?

The reason the toplist was unsecure was because people were making 100 threads a day asking "wen tuplist bk up!! I wn post my sevr!!!" so Ikiliki rushed to get it finished, he was to busy on getting it finished to forgot to hash the passwords and the SQL injection left the hacker with everyone's password.
McLovin - What you say is incorrect. Right now we can't do anything to get your email accounts back however I'm going to speak to MSN and see what they can do for you. We are trying as hard as we can.

MSN cant help you, they don't have password recovery support. Anyone who lost their password needs to get a new email (unless they know their recovery questions + answers), and that's the end of it.

@Draxxus
It's not as funny as everyone thinks it is. People have personal information on there email and for it to be hacked due to Ikiliki not having proper security on his website is un-acceptable. I know I wouldn't be happy if my email was hacked, and to think I was going to put a server on the toplist is just scary.

Do you think that is a good excuse? Being pressured by people making threads on a forum about his toplist? That's why he has staff members, to handle those types of things. You as a staff member could have taken some initiative and made an announcement saying those types of threads are not aloud, and deleted the threads when they appeared. It is not Ikiliki's responsibility to maintain the forums.

I understand that, but don't pin this on Ikiliki. Like anything newly released it will have bugs. The TOS for the toplist I believe says use at your own risk. Also it's completely these peoples faults for not using a different password. They need to learn how to be more secure on the internet, if they had used different passwords for everything they wouldn't have had this problem.
I am quite sure that Ikiliki is working very hard to fix the problem. He takes this site very seriously, and has proven that time and time again. He has driven 2 hours to the data center to fix things twice now. That's like 8 hours total in the boring car.
So please don't blame this on Ikiliki. Ikiliki is not in fault here. The only thing Ikiliki is in fault of is working to hard for this website. He rebuilt everything very fast. We all know that anything new has bugs. That's why people stay away from Microsoft OS's for a few months or weeks after the release. This is nothing new.

yeah he will say that, but he'll give a reason, which will most likely be that he hurried up on making the toplist leaving flaws on it. and that comes to the conclusion that he was pressured by users because they kept making threads.

They can literally PAY for it.

Only way for someone to literally 'pay' for not setting recovery questions is if they had a paypal involving the same password/email.
Regardless, you can refund all money anyways, so oh well.
