No it appears that they are trying to influence the community to act more mature and actually work as a community, instead of putting others down from inside the community. These forums are for people who have similar interests, there is no need to put others down through *****ing.

The only reason I didn't like it is because I was reading through WoW threads here and there is a race in game as *****s. It was just odd. I'm all for the censoring of newfags usage of the word.
