I believe stem cells will play an extreamly important role in the future and that the potential it has is so important that research should have started years ago. Many people find it ethically wrong, however I believe there is more to it than that. There is money to be made from treatments, the money to be made from cures are greatly reduced since once they are cured they no longer need your services. If you however continue to treat a person multiple times you'll make much more money from it.

If a person wants an abortion for whatever reason, the results from research on the embryo could actually save the lives of millions, surely that is a better option?

Also just to clearify are we debating embryonic research or stem cells as a whole?

We need it, because all of the good people out there have their lives ruined and they don't deserve it.

We need it, the parts will be grown as just that, parts.
They won't "raise" humans and slaughter them for their organs. Like we do with animals.

It's needed. I heard scientists re-grew a lab rat's whole spine using stem cells. Think of everything else that can be done.
You can get stem cells from the umbilical cord too, not just embryos.
