I tried to find some information on it but only found a little that I didn't need, what exactly is it?

A star, what is about x10, x15 times the size of our sun, and is set to explode, and would take 50 year's (traveling at the speed of light) for the super nova to hit our solar system, what would emit
Gammer ray's what would rip through anything in it's path. The last light source we had from it was 25-26 years ago.
So in 24-25 year's we'll know if the star is still there, or if it had exploded.
INFO FOR NEWBS: if a star was 50 light year's away,
And it is giving off light, the hubble space scope would pick it up, and recreate an image type thing of what it LOOkED like 50 years aho.
Have any worries about 2012 or any other concener's pm me and i'll tell you some info.

*Science, that star created this solar system and its so large, and use so much gas ot should have ran out 10 year's ago. Although, this is not to worry about because 2012 is a sham an' chances of this happening are reasnably small, but it still has a chance. So don't say no real evidence, i could pull up tons of reasearch and evidence of this, just i don't post it here because of younger community.

what ive heard of history cahnnel is that for our world to be eliminated in 2012 the sun has to shoot out those gammer rays.. ( which every year there getting bigger and bigger )

Okay, find me some evidence of 2012 and i will disprove it. *gaurentied*

Lets not go into 2012 talk....
Also, betelgeuse is very very very very far away. Stars explode all the time, though betelgeuse is big, I don't think it would destroy or effect us much.
Could be wrong, I am not an astronomer. Prob will go off now and look more up, you bringing this up again has got me interested.
I think it is called betelgeuse.
EDIT: I don't think betelgeuse even exploded yet. It may have but we haven't even gotten to the stage of seeing the light go out yet. If you have a source....:P
Found this on google, liberals will hate me for posting this but a source is a source.

They say that betelgeuse would have to explode in the middle ages for it to kill us in 2012.

Right, gammer radition, imagin a an object 15x the size of our son. Emiting gammer radiation of about 0.0000000000000000"0000000000000000.1% of its gammer radiation over ten years, that radiation would spread out for billions upon billons of miles. Now imagin all of that at the same time, its like getting a super duper huge blueray player and filling with any type of radoactive substance. And strapping billions of KG of tnt, and exploding. The effect would be nothing compared to this.
Also imagin ecery bomb going off at the same tine, again, nothing.
So fuck you and all you stand for, needing some old retard to debate.

I have not heard about this. So there's a star, that may or may not have exploded many years ago and it is one of the reasons the world may end in 2012? Correct if I'm wrong, but tons of stars have exploded before and nothing bad has come of it. If this star is really that big wouldn't we have seen the explosion already? If the explosion hasn't gone off yet, then it seems to me like the star would be visible, seeing that 2012 is only a year away.

You can't see gammer rays unless you where tovshine light onto it and see a very slight bend.
Also think of how big the super nova would be A'.

At the speed of light?
Question:
How the fucking hell did they see that star?
Oh and, the scientists in 25-40 years, hopefully will have it figured out.

You cannot spell the words you are trying to use, you don't really have a clue about what your trying to debate about and here you are slagging off others. Chill out. Why the hell would the sun be equal to a blueray player, or even a suitable substitute.
When things are far away you cannot with 100% certainty say we'll be directly affected, just purely because of objects that may protect us.

If you want to correct the spelling, you'll have a lot of work to do. The title of the thread is wrong, it isn't beetle juice.. it is betelgeuse. How can you debate about something you don't even know the correct spelling for?

A star plumiting towards earth, in which is bigger than the sun.
Please advise me of any spelling errors.

The star itself is not plummeting towards the Earth, the super nova effects would. Either or it is nothing we have to worry about as the star still is visible today thus it would also take nearly 3000 years for it to blast us if it does. Kids like Rich are all going off saying it should hit us next year with is not even close to true. Then he will flame say he is right and wait for the world to end in 2012.
I provided the source and I know I am right, I don't mean to sound arrogant but I mean the super nova hitting us in 2012 is insane IF it actually does, theres no way to say how big the super nova will be.
Zykev if you don't think there is an intelligent response yet then I suppose try taking Astronomy? I don't think your in the place to judge if you have not the slightest idea of what the debate is about...
