I'm going to do my own little investigation here.
Step 1) Visit Only the registered members can see the link. and run a speedtest on several servers and post the result that gives you the best speeds.
Step 2) Fill in the following form:
ISP:
Package download:
Package upload:
Monthly cost:
Monthly allowance:
Country:
Connection Type: (Leave blank if you don't know)
The package upload/download is the speed you were sold - so if you were sold a 50Mb download and only get 23Mb, put 50Mb in the package download.
Step 3) Post your results like this:
Only the registered members can see the link.
(Unfair result since I've just hacked my connection - it'll be at 7Mb in 24 hours)
ISP: Uno Broadband (XILO)
Package download: 8Mb
Package upload: 448Kb
Monthly cost: £26.03
Monthly allowance: 50GB
Country: Great Britain (England)
Connection Type: ADSL

Virgin have HUGE overcrowding issues.
They really do need to sort it out.

Indeed they do. Some days I hardly get 5mb - I phoned them and threatened to leave and surprisingly they said 'they would sort me out as soon as possible'. Surprising what they do when you threaten to leave. Lul.

Yeah, problem is they promise to upgrade capacity and just keep on delaying it.
BT aren't really arsed with the FTTC rollout either.
Wish I could get more than an 8Mb ADSL Max connection.

Bleh, BT are meh - Talk Talk are the worst in my opinion .. My friend has Talk Talk and he gets DC'ed every 10 mins or huge lag spikes.

So why don't you?
Because we would have to have some cable or w/e it's and it would cost too much + waste of money.

I'd pay up to £100 to get cable installed that would give me 200Mb.
Looking at America I'm quite shocked at the speeds though, most packages don't go any higher than 20Mb download - some places in the UK can get 100Mb.

Monthly allowance: Allowance?
Country: U.S.
Connection Type: Cable
I actually dislike Cablevision; their customer service leaves room for improvement. I would much rather get Verizon Fios, but that isn't in my area because of pressure from Cablevision (its all so very complicated).

Sound like you need an OFCOM group.
OFCOM is an independent group in the UK that basically controls what the ISPs can do - for example, if BT create ducts and other ISPs want to use them, OFCOM make BT open up the ducts.

Well actually the county government should be handling this, but it seems that Cablevision is handing money to them to stop Verizon from coming in. I could actually get a fine for having Verizons logo in my window. Obviously this should be illegal, but I guess they just keep handing the money up. How true this actually is however, is up to debate, but obviously something similar is happening.
