Vahlenor is a new server, built to recreate Runescape 2005, but with more of an interesting gaming experience. The combat exp rates are medium, and skilling exp rates are fast.

Current combat exp rate: 300 times your hit damage
Vahlenor has a great player/player economy, meaning most good items are obtained by quests, monsters, or trading other players. Some of the items like fire capes, and some other rares can be obtained from a shop using pk points, which are awarded to a player by killing another player. The rares in this pk shop are only temporary and will be removed from the shop when I feel it is necessary!

There is 2 different clients, and 1 of the clients is a free client, which you must download when you first start playing, but once you get 10,000,000 (10m) coins, you can pay the Lumbridge Guide that money, and he will give you permanent game membership. Once you are a member, you can play with the member's only client. On the free client, all member's items will be called 'members object' and some of the quests will be unavailable. I think this is a great way to integrate membership, because it gives a challenge to the game, but it is still fun without the hassle of having to pay real money for membership, so that means anybody who can play can get membership, because you don't need a paypal account, or a creditcard!

The game is based off of 3 different clans, the Saradomin clan, the Zamorak clan, and the Guthix clan. Your clan is decided when you log in for the first time. You choose by clicking one of the 3 portals, and the portal you choose teleports you to your clans home town or area, and you get 100,000 coins, and your clan's god cape.

There are over 7 working quests, and each quest has different advantages, and will help you throughout the game, for example, Wizard of Mort'ton requires a lot of running back and forth through Canifis and Mort'ton, which is a long distance, but once you finish the quest and help the wizard, he helps you by adding a portal in Canifis, and a portal in Mort'ton, each of which teleport you from one town to the other, saving you a lot of energy and time.

Just because money is somewhat easy to get, don't think it means all items will be easy to obtain or get. Money is not worth what it is in real Runescape. For example, an abyssal whip may cost 1,500,000 (1.5m) coins in real Runescape, but it might cost 40,000,000 (40m) coins in Vahlenor. Item prices are also not set, and they will higher and lower, depending on the amount of money flowing through the Vahlenor player economy.

Basic features:
- Working cannons
- Over 7 quests
- Combat animations, gfx, and specials

This is quite interesting o_O
I would suggest lowering the exp rate though >.<

From 150? I think that is reasonable, but I guess maybe I could lower it a bit.

I was thinking 75-100 :P

Yeah, I have an idea, where it starts with like, 20, but you can pay a Combat Instructor like, 100,000 coins, and he would raise it to 50, then pay him 250,000 for him to raise it to 100, then 500,000 for 175, and so on... But for now, I will put it at 100, and keep it there.

I decided to raise it to 300, just for now, so it will attract some players. I will lower it later.

Maybe you could play anyway? Just for fun, considering we are looking for some loyal members who are willing to play daily, until the activity builds up. We already have a few members who have submitted some nice guides and resources on the forums, and posting in the market section. I also already notice a lot of players trading items in-game. The economy is starting to build up.

I simply laughed; simply frickin laughed, at the fact that Avoid recommended you lower the experience rate, and you doubled it.
Oh well, if you want to attract players, you gotta do what you gotta do.
Good luck on the server.

Thanks Degraded, and hopefully it will do well. I'd love if you joined the game. :)

I've quit Runescape Private Server's quite some time ago, only thing that will bring me back is a completely SQL-Integrated Server.

Vahlen
June 30th, 2010, 02:14
I thought about making the server SQL-Integrated, but for some reason, players don't like it... It beats me, but I guess I'll go with what the community likes over what I prefer.

Do you happen to have MSN? If so will you please send me your email in a PM?

Edit:

Also, for windows 7 users, replace the run.bat code with this one

@echo off
TITLE Run
"C:/Program Files (x86)/java/jre6/bin/java.exe" -Xmx500m client 0 0 lowmem free 0
pause

Looks good & interesting, will DEFINITELY try right now. :]

Edit: Error Connecting To Server.

Vahlen

Yeah I was doing an update, but I have fixed it.

Also,

@echo off
TITLE Run
"C:/Program Files (x86)/java/jre6/bin/java.exe" -Xmx500m client 0 0 lowmem free 0
pause
That will only work for the free world client...

To fix the members world client, put this:

@echo off
TITLE Run
"C:/Program Files (x86)/java/jre6/bin/java.exe" -Xmx500m client 0 0 highmem members 0
pause

looks like a good project, but your 'signature' is a little big.

Vahlen
June 30th, 2010, 13:56
Not really, its just long. It doesn't adjust the forum layout or page layout, so therefore, its fine. :)

Arkon

How many skill work?

Vahlen
June 30th, 2010, 17:29
There is only about 3 skills that don't work yet, and thats firemaking, agility, and farming. I need to finish them.
