Both are surely greatly skilled players, but I think Lionel Messi has the upper hand in this debate.

Cristiano Ronaldo has more pace, nice defender beating skills (ball control), and powerful shots/ free kicks, but I think the combined quickness, vision, trickery (ball control and defender beating and multiple defender luring) Lionel Messi offers makes for the better player in most occasions.

Also, just because a player is paid more to play does not necessarily make them the best, or better than someone who is paid less.

Ronaldinho has been gash ever since he move to ac Milan. He was class for psg and barca.

Messi is class what he does with the ball is amazing, look at last nights game he walked through arsenals defence most of the time. It's like the ball sticks to his boot. And the flick he did over almunia was as if it was a game on FIFA.
