My Co-Owner recently quit my server to play this game as well as most of my friends that even play Real RuneScape, and all over on YouTube all I hear about is RS players comparing it to Minecraft...I know for sure the day I heard of it I told myself I won't play it but hell everyones joining?

Dude for the past 3 - 4 days i've played Minecraft for about 8 hours a day. I built a huge ass fortress (PM FOR THE MAP) YEH!!!!!!!!!

Basically, you can build what ever you want. In this case, I built a fortress (full of secrets) that give hints to the hidden secret room.

Anyway, it's a wonderful game full of interesting attributes to make it, as you said 'addicting' and just overall fun. First off, it brings out the creativity in you, which is always nice. You use single blocks of different types to build things, plant things, even kill things. Pretty cool, huh? You can also have fun surviving, as it sometimes(depending on what you've set your difficulty to, of course) challenging to stay alive and keep your settlements as creepers blow you the fuck up. Lastly the game isn't very confined. You're free in it, roaming a huge map, tunneling rather far, scaffolding pretty high. Overall great game.
