PSN Downtime

I'm honestly ready to strangle someone if they don't put the PSN back online. It's been down for over 72 hours now, guessing, because of being hacked or that incident with the trophy error. I have no idea what's causing it, there's a lot of rumors, but I along with many other people are ready to kill someone. I just bought my new MW2 disk and I want to start playing it again. Anyone know a rough estimate of when it'll be back?

Eww, I still hate xBox. I've heard that they got hacked, so they're moving to Dedi's to host the PSN, which will protect it from future hackings, but I'm not 100% sure. They just need to get it back online ASAP.

Actually this is only true for games designed just for PC while other games are usually ported to PC leading to shit graphics compared to their console counterparts.
Plus game developers know what hardware their games will be run on so they can test how every little thing will look and respond on every system.
Plus a console is on the cheap right now as they have been out for years while a brand new PC running parts just developed that past month could cost you twice as much or more than the console.
Plus one's friends are more than likely to own a console than a gaming pc

Although SOME developers have started making games for PC with epic graphics, then porting them to consoles with lower graphics.

More will move to PC since consoles are at their max right now and the next generation aren't coming until 2014 apparently.

Devs will just move to the PC.

Yes i was mostly referring to the US market, but actually, most people already have a PC anyways... and to add to that some have a ps3/xbox/wii etc.
a PC is a must have for everyone who can get one, maybe not for gaming, but for browsing the web atleast.

Sony's Playstation Network, its online service for Playstation 3 and its Playstation Portable consoles, suffered from a major outage today; which is on going as of this writting. According to Son'ys blog, the interruption in service may last into the long weekend - for at least another "full day or two". Sony released a statement through its EU blog, saying that the network outage may be a result of "targeted behaviour by an outside party", brining in the possibility of cyberattacks. Adding to the confusion is the fact that the message has since been removed.

While it could be the case that other Anons have acted by themselves AnonOps wa not related to this incident and takes no responsiblity for it. A more likely explination is that Sony is taking advantage of Anonymous' previous ill-will towards the company to distract users from the fact the outage is accutally an internal problem with the companies servers.

From what I've heard and don't go all out on me if I'm wrong because none of us work for Sony, so none of us know the complete story. Geohotz jailbroke the first PS3 and got sued by Sony. (Although Anonymous said they didn't attack Sony) If I'm correct Geohotz stole about $2,000 from the Playstation store, so Sony shut down the PSN. The reason the PSN has been down so long, is because they're buffing up their security so much it's taking forever. In case you want to know, as soon as the Playstation Network goes back online, Anonymous will be attacking Sony again, but the attack will not be directed at the Playstation Network, so don't worry your hoes. If you want my guess, it'll be up today.

Well, my mistake. I didn't know the accounts weren't stolen since I don't have one. As well as I did have a CC on my PSN account, but I canceled it 2 days after PSN went down due to people saying it got hacked, etc. on the PSblog.
