One of the biggest companies here now deducted in size as they have to payout 49 Billion of their 122 Billion in wealth.

If they go bankrupt - they won't be able to pay everyone for the damages thus the government would (and that would be devastating).

The US is trying to get it of their back, which I think is a giant mistake on their part. I also don't support shipping oil overseas, someone had to new this would've happened someday.

Shipping oil overseas? We have to, we just can't afford not to at the moment. They want to rely more on domestic oil rather then foreign and since there's lots of oil in the ocean it's just more logical for the US to do so. Although, there are risks and well - everyone can see clearly what that risk was now.

I've read that some geologists or however you call them said that there is no way to close the leak.

They are trying however all the attempts have failed.

I kind of agree with that unless they get a big ass cap to stop the flow of the oil. But on the way they are going, it looks like we just have to wait another month and a half until the oil from that well runs out.

There are rumors that the whole oil source that's under the earth is 'f#c#ed up' (the oil source of that area), so there is no way to stop the thing.
I'ver read an article about it but it's dutch, so I'm not able to link it to you. And I'm not able to translate the whole article.

I highly doubt it`s fucked up. It`ll soon run out of oil (they predicted it in the next month and a half).

Either way the whole leak screwed up way to many things for us to fix, our grandchildren are going to be affected by this problem. Its so bad i dont even want to get into this discussion because it makes me sick.

This whole mess is just another example of cooperate greed.

Every day helpless animals are slaughtered by the oil...

This all happens while BP exec's fly around on their private jets swearing that they care...

Well it has to run out... all the worlds oil isn`t saturated beneath this well. That would be very powerful and a huge concern to every country in the world then.

Personaly, coming from a 13 year olds point of view, this is just ruining our future. No fish? No water? This destroys the earth and its people. I don't understand why they didnt stop drilling when they saw pressure was getting to high. It's just really sad.

This is what happen's when a company becomes too big, a company that doesn't have a monopoly within the market would be more careful. It would focus on making sure they deliver 100% whilst making sure everything is safe. Bp's greed is too big and hence why they overlooked small but costly matters for the benefit of more profits

This Topic is so common in my Global History Class, But It's weird to see that one person on this thread experiences such things, This will Harm many ecosystems I hear.

It already has. All the shrimp and sea-turtles are almost all dead. Shrimp in the US and Canada (probably throughout the world rather), the prices are through the roof because the shrimp are harder to fish now and I believe there are massive bans in areas.

Oh yeah, forgot about Tuna. Tuna's getting more expensive soon too.

In opinion;
this is all our goverments fault, they got it down there. yet , they never thought of a 'what if' .
now we have thousands of wildlife being killed, do they care? no, they care about making the oil
so it isn't visible.

sicking .

its a terrible situation i think tht the big companies like bp all needed better plans incase of oil leaks.. so lazy of them there only plan was to stick a cap on the end :(
tbh shouldnt of ever happened but itl show companies like bp that you cant be relaxed about your businesses just because you havent had problems up till now doesnt mean you wont have problems in the future... :/

It's the whole worlds fault. Every country who does off-shore drilling does the same thing that the US does. So don't specifically blame the US for this because everyone else is doing it. Just the US was unlucky and this happened to them.

The government nor BP want this to happen. If anything, BP cares however in terms of money loss. The government does also care in money that was lost however seems to also feel sorry for those who are affected by this oil crisis. Hence, Obama going around to these families.

Statement: BP spent more money on commercials then actually contributing to the oil spill...

The main thing that makes me angry about the oil leak is the fact that obama keeps implying that this is the fault of the UK - keeping the blame away from the US government - by continuously referring to BP as British Petroleum. BP is a multinational corporation, and it was the fault of BP America.

I don't see why Obama let BP take care of the oil spill, they really haven't done anything. It's ridiculous.

This will take praying and alot of dedication not all this 'fake' helping. Sending a robot made it worse what else is there for us to do?
