Black Ops - i need help lmao

I have a PS3, I just got it back from warranty so i've been playing it recently..
I need some help with Black Ops.
I havent even pretiged lmao im still ike lvl 32 or something...
how do I equip myself with 2 primary weapons? I've seen a few commentaries on youtube with people who switch between 2 primary weapons, but when i try its a pistol/rocket/bilostic knife or osmething and a primary gun..
