Server name stealing aloud?

Well I have been running my server now for a good 6-7 months with the name pkmadness (as you all prob allready know) Now about 2 weeks ago another server shows up and guess what steals my server name...... I just want to know are they aloud to do this on this site? Because im sure I saw somewhere be4 that your not aloud but im not 100% sure. Anyway just want some feedback on this please guys, coz im really P'ed off theyer going to be stealing my players, thinking its my server. Please dont say read the rules as I can not find them any where been looking around the site for a while just cant find the toplist rules lol.

You don't really know that you were the first to have that name. Nothing the site or you can really do unless you have copy right on the name which you probably don't. They also have a pretty legit pk-madness.com against your free forum thing.

In the end, just because you name your server it doesn't mean no one else can. It's like saying people are copying your name when your server name is pker scape or something.

He is perfectly allowed to take your name, since you do not have it copyrighted.
And honestly, who really cares if they steal your name?

It's me that he's talking about. I bought the domain about a year ago and saved it untill i needed it. I used it before when i bought it. I've had the name longer than ur 7 months.

Just because you havn't seen my name around doesn't mean that you had the name first. I've had this domain for quite a long time and you have 0% chance of making me delete it.. :)

Crezzy came onto my server and advertised HIS server. It's the other way around on this case. I had to ban him multiple times and his advertisers, for coming on and spamming and advertising. Very disruptive player when i'm here trying to code everything to A+ standards.


And why doesn't he have a REAL domain? Not some smfforfree.. I actually have a real domain...

Its not copyright. There server it not pattened, nor is it copyright. It is sad to steal a different servers name though.

You can't get copyright on a name, that's a trademark (TM).

True. Also companies can have the same name. So, in no-way, is this illegal ;(. Ikilliki can take action and remove that server if he wants, and ask them to change names.. But taking your name is 100% allowed. People who do it are gay tho

No they can't, because they usually have trademarks (hence big companies have a small TM next to their name).

I think PkMadness is a Good Server name, noone can Disagree, Unless you come up with a better one.

And also 562 wasn't even current RS 7 months ago. So I don't see how that's possible.

Its allowed but I hate people that do it. Ownage-Pkz lost half there players because someone did that. (Lol I was playing on the wrong server :P)
