Your session times out after a few minutes so leaving it open the whole day adds only a few minutes.

First of all, use this board (Only the registered members can see the link.) for your bitching needs.
Second of all, it's useful as it tells who is truly lurking/being active on the forums apart from who is spamming 10 minutes a day. It does work because you end up timing out after a few minutes.
