Does anyone know a quick guide on how to use cookies for storing login sessions? fox x amount of time

How would i make it so when the user goes on the page it adds 15 minuites to the expiring time of the cookie before the session is destryoed and then when the user logs in it sets the cookie to = 15 minuites

GTFO my thread to me it dosent explain it much for what i want. Which is where the cookie updates the database with time()

Everyone is Getting Annoyed/Paranoid Because they cannot find that much information?
I think they should stop telling people "GTFO my thread" It's Runelocus, Anybody can Give an answer or a point of view.
