Do you guys have any sort of registration agreement on your servers, or alternate ways to keep out unwanted people?
For example, some servers have authentication pages or disclaimers.
Here's an agreement I found (no, I didn't make it).
Overview
This end user agreement applies to all parties accessing our website and any hosted content.
Legal Agreement
By accessing our website and all hosted content, you hereby certify are not an employee of Jagex LTD, Runescape, FunORB, or War of Legends, and do not represent any aforementioned party as legal council or otherwise. Additionally, you certify that you are not accessing our content by proxy for a member of the aforementioned party. You also certify that all registration information is valid, under US legal code § 1746, and that failure to provide accurate information is a direct breach of our Terms and Conditions. Required information is detailed in full below.
Access Agreement
By accessing our website or any hosted content, you certify that you are connecting via a home internet connection only. Access from commercial organizations is strictly prohibited and a direct breach of the terms of service. Use of third party applications, proxy servers, bouncing services, or other methods of masking of a true IP (internet protocol) address is also prohibited and will result in a termination and report to the third party organization. Unauthorized access is taken very seriously and will be not only dealt with locally but will be reported to the agency responsible, subject to privacy policy conditions. Breach of this clause is not only against our terms of service, but is also subject to US legal code 18 U.S.C. § 1030. (...having knowingly accessed a network without authorization or exceeding authorized access...) You also certify that registration information provided to any hosted online community such as forums, games, or chat networks is accurate and verifiable. You must make the adequate changes if information changes at any time within 30 days. Failure to provide verifiable information is a breach of this contract and will then constitute unauthorized access. This information includes email addresses, postal codes, and contact information when making a purchase or donation. This is subject to US legal code § 1028 (...knowingly transfers an identification document, authentication feature, or a false identification document knowing that such document or feature was stolen or produced without lawful authority... ...knowingly and without lawful authority produces an identification document, authentication feature, or a false identification document...) Traffic access that attempts to harm our network stability, whether known or not, is also in direct breach of the terms of service. This applies to parties attempting to attack through a denial of service attack or interrupt service. Under these circumstances, we will terminate and permanently block all involved IP addresses and report the activity to the service provider abuse departments.
Privacy Policy (Distribution of Information)
All information provided when you access or register at our website is logged and subject to distribution to local and regional authorities when a breach of the terms of the terms of service has been committed. This information includes referral data, IP address history, email addresses, analytical browsing habits, messages posted, and regional information. We never sell, rent, or share private information.
Donations, Payments, and Purchases
By donating, purchasing in-game virtual items, or special privileges on a forum community you agree to the following terms. In any instance where a receipt or transaction ID is provided, such as Paypal or an electronic funds transfer, it is not permitted to chargeback, request a refund, or in any way reverse the payment. All purchases, donations, and payments are absolutely final and reversal is a direct breach and constitutes fraud. Unauthorized payments or purchases with stolen information will not be tolerated and any parties involved will be reported to third party law enforcement and a subpoena for additional information will be requested from any viable access information provided.
What do you think? Are they useless? Do they work?
