How To: Improve Gaming

Description:
A quick an simple tutorial on how to get the best performance while gaming.

Table of Contents:
I. Getting What You Need
II. Installing & Using
III. Reverting
IV. Misc.
V. Credits

I. Getting What You Need
You are going to need the following programs;
Game Gain (Only the registered members can see the link.)
GameBooster (Only the registered members can see the link.)
I've tested(used) both of them and they are 100% safe.Game Gain is not free, but there is a free version witch I use and it works great and Game Booster is free.

II. Installing & Using
Installing:
To install just follow the setup wizard on both and do not run at the end of setup.

Using:
I've decided to make this part in to two sections being that there is two programs and you must follow them in the order to keep your computer safe!

A. Game Gain
Before you get started, please be sure you have Game Gain installed and running.

Open Up Game Gain(Do Not Touch Anything Yet):
Only the registered members can see the link.

As you may notice Game Gain picks up on your systems hardware, atleast it should, if it doesn't change the settings to your hardware. You cannot not change the speed setting because you are using the free version, but using the speed setting at default is extremely efficient.

Once you've set your settings, click the apply now button. You will be prompted to restart your computer and you will need to restart your computer for the program to take effect.

B. Game Booster
Before you get started, please be sure you have Game Booster installed, the above step completed, and game booster running. If Game Booster wants to do a free update deny it to save time.(I have not done the update)

Game Booster should be running and look something like this(Do Not Touch Anything Yet):
Only the registered members can see the link.

Leave all the check boxes marked and make sure the "Unnecessary Services" is checked. Now click switch to gaming mode and if you are prompted with a box asking to close additional programs just skip.
Only the registered members can see the link.

Once your in gaming mode the program will be running and will be in the system tray.

C. GameFire
GameFire is similar to GameBooster, just a different layout and simpler use.

Only the registered members can see the link.

Hit start gaming mode and boom you have your boosting started. If you want to check process list witch is helpful it show item running in the background.

*If you look at your task manager, both processes and performance you can see that your computer is clean and running a lot better.

III. Reverting
To revert is quite simple for both programs to keep things in order I did the programs in order.

A. Game Gain
Open Game Gain, if it is expired just download and reinstall(Do not try to use a serial off the internet, you can see more information on this in the "Misc." part) and hit the "Restore" button.

B. GameBooster
Click the GameBooster icon in the system tray and click "Nomal Mode"

IV. Misc.
If you are looking to enter a serial for Game Gain found on the internet do not!For tutorial purposes I've done this and here is what will happen;

That is not shopped, I just painted over my information.

The combination of these programs were thought up by me.

It's not only for those games, and I did get a new computer. Although it could be used in other games.

Pointless anyway since most games rely on GPU (Graphics Card) rather than CPU power.

Services will eat RAM and CPU - but since in most systems the GPU is the bottleneck this probably won't help much.

Verse me in Counter-Strike: Source.

OT: Post a link to the free Game Gain version?

And there's an easier, maybe less efficient, way of doing this without downloading a ton of programs and such.

Anyway, nice guide.

Game booster sucks, I've used it on multiple computers and notice no real FPS differences in CS, or games Like GTA 4, hell even RCT3 lmao. I notice more of a change just closing background programs. :/.

It boost your FPS a tad, but mainly drops you ping and latency.

This also helps a good bit if you record games but it lags your game when you're recording.

Dedicate more RAM toward your games. Go into task manager, find the application, right click and go to priority level and hit [High, Above Average].

Doesn't always help a lot.

Doesn't always help a lot.

It could help because your recorder is grabbing more RAM than what is needed, which causes lag.
