Ok for starters, I'm not just posting a bunch of threads so I can get stats or whatever you guys with your fancy lingos call em'(: I'm actually doing this so I can learn to code, or program.

Well a lot of you guys had different opinions on what kind of server (protocol) I should use to learn and hone my programming skills. So I thought I'd post this and have you guys give me your opinions of what I should really start with.

Also add me on MSN AaronCullop@yahoo.com if you can help me with my journey to learn to code(:

If your asking for a base, I guess Delta base would be the best to start with?

No!
Dont teach people bad habbits...

Anyways.
Use the 317 protocol as there are quite alot of tutorials/snippets released.
Perhaps you can look at how they are done.

So, I'm assuming people hate Delta Bases now. I'm guessing that's what Don't teach bad habbits means lol
What base would you recommend then?

Since this is directly related to private servers, I suggest you post this here (Only the registered members can see the link.). You will receive many more answers.

Also, if you're looking to learn some basic programming skills, all protocols are roughly the same. They're all written in Java, yes? So it shouldn't matter. If you're looking to learn how to program these RSPS, then I suggest using some basic tutorials. One that I've been referenced to frequently when I was attempting to learn was the sun java tutorials (Only the registered members can see the link.). Try it, I'm sure it'll help. ;)
