Runescape

Well I'm the lead Web Developer for the project "Runescape" - Only the registered members can see the link.

The team have been coding non stop on the client trying to make a very good version of the good old runescape before god swords original 317 with 459 game frame.As i'm the only one on the team working on the website i need to make sure i get it done in a reasonable time so this is what i have so far.

.Managed to get my hands on the original Runescape website homepage. (Very bare, hardly any images)

.Found most of the images i need

.Added all necessary images (Made a few of my own and added in)

.Added links and other website features

.Made the webclient page (For when the webclient is ready)

Oh my, this is exactly the project I've been waiting for to come my way.

I've been running an RSPS community for 2 years, and in that 2 years I've been trying to get someone to develop a good stable RS2 server. Everyone who started just quit and left a crappy server behind, forcing me to close the server and just leave the website running.

So my question is, would you like to team up with my website? I don't mind developing the entire website for it, I'm just rubbish at private servers. I also have a new dedicated server which will be running for at least another year, so we could use that for hosting? The server is only currently used to host the website, and uses hardly any of its RAM,CPU and bandwidth.

The residual hits to the site would mean you don't have to worry about advertising, as the target audience will be arriving from Google search every day.

You could also use a stand-alone domain too, but I'd have no money to pay for that :P

I spoken to my hoster about you via msn he said that he wants to use his server, since it has 3 years payed, BUT we were thinking of making a P2P world, and a F2P world so 2 can be hosted but even if we get into that depth we will need to become a populuar server. Thanks for the offer and if you want to help with the website that is fine, myself and my hoster would like to know more about you and meet you, so add me mishroom@hotmail.co.uk

As Sick` said. The 'Runescape' name is a trademark of Jagex .Ltd - And unfortunately so are all of the images etc; there copyrighted by Jagex. Good luck.

I'm not a retard, i replaced every single image with my own uploaded files, there is no trace of anything to do with runescape on it now.

We didn't implement that my friend. We're simply saying watch out if you're keeping the name Runescape and / or images etc; at least put a disclaimer / terms of service before the main page loads stating that no jagex employee's (etc...) can not enter the site. Otherwise you shall have a lawsuit.

According to the screenshot, you didn't replace the background, nor did you replace the name. The name will most likely be the biggest issue.

That still probably won't work. I mean, if you make a kiddie porn site and put TOS saying federal agents can't enter, you can still get into a shit ton of trouble.

I made the theme myself, i just leeched the pictures then uploaded them to tinypic and added them.

He means you're own design. Instead of using Runescape created images.

Hmm i suppose, but were trying to recreate runescape to the fullest we can, we even have those fire lighters that make different colored flames ...

It doesn't matter if it has no traces of the word runescape jagex has copyrights on the images your using saving them and putting them on tinypic doesn't make it copyright-free jagex has all rights to shut down anything you make that involves a server images websites but not websites that discuss about runescape like runelocus.
