"Nether Update" (Volgens minecraftwiki)

Fixes:

Will limit the amount of Experience Orbs dropped by a player on death.
Enderman block carrying will be nerfed.

New Features:

"Nether Update / Second Part of the Adventure Update".

This update will include new features in the Nether, such as:
Netherrack Bricks.
Netherrack Fence.
Nether Ruins.
Two new nether mobs

Adventure mode

Finished Biome code and New Biomes.
Snowy Biomes.
Swamp Biomes will be adjusted to appear "swampier."
Mushroom Biomes.
Naturally generated Huge Mushrooms.
New Mushroom Cow, the Mooshroom.
New Grass block.

New sound effects, including:
Minecart sounds.
Shears sounds.
Additional Bow sounds.
Big Slime sounds.
The true sounds of Endermen and Silverfish.

Changes in already existing sounds:
A change in the sound of Rain.
New sounds for Doors.
New sounds for the Skeletons' walk to make them sound more skeleton-y.

6 New Mobs:
New Mob that is stronger than other Mobs (Possibly a Boss Mob).
Mooshroom Cows.
NPCs in Villages, as Villager Mobs.
Snow Golem mob.
Can be crafted.
Melts in hot biomes.
Spreads snow around when it walks.
Passive, but throws snowballs at enemies.
At least two new mobs for the Nether.
Both will be agressive.

Use for Experience (skills) will be added.
Animal breeding.
Increased number of Strongholds per map (from three to unlimited).
Boss Mobs in Strongholds.
New/Improved Armor system.
Increased armor durability.

Also: A new friendly mob called Snow Golem. You can make them yourself. It will basically throw snowballs at creepers, the creeper will explode in front of them, so you win.

That sure is interesting, I think I'll wait for the official release though. Bukkit isn't even done recovering from 1.8 x)

they didn't really start it right away because they were helping mojang find bugs, and thought they would of had time to update before release

They're just done releasing 1.8.1 and there's already a leaked 1.9? O_o

It isn't leaked, Mojang leaks them lol.

To quote them: ''We'll probably leak 1.9 if we don't want another release''

They're just done releasing 1.8.1 and there's already a leaked 1.9? O_o

There starting to release it all now because minecraft comes out of BETA and full release in November

but there splitting 1.9 up again with a 1.10
