View Full Version : Is Kill/Death Ratio Important?

People say that KDR (Kill/Death ratio) is important on first person shooters. Is it, and why? What's the point of going something like 32-0? I find it hard to do. For example, I'm decent at COD, but I always go negative. It's not because of my skill level. I honestly just think that I always get bullshitted compared to everyone else. The way that KDR works is that it has a multiplication ratio. If I go 32-2, then it's a 16:0 ratio.

It's nothing more than prestige it doesn't depict whether you're a good player or not.

16:1*
That all depends on your outlook. If you go 15-21, did you have fun? If so, then no, KDR doesn't matter.

I currently have a Kill/Death Ratio of 1.37 in Black Ops. It's like, ok I have a positive KD, fine.
I usually play for fun, using bad weapons (Mac11, Olympia, etc).

Would be strange to have a negative kd. /troll

Depends like me i like my K.D to be high since im in a good clan and i just gotta keep it up i hardly go negative at any game :).But K.D only matters if you think it matters.

all i do is mess around. KD dont matter at all.
Does nothing for you. Unless like said before you want a clan

you mean at the end of the match or in total?
kd matters to me cuz i don't like dieing in the game in general, respawn team and away from enemies, meaning less kills
and wat fun is a game if you can't get any kills :P

Obviously it does matter. If you mess around, you're not playing seriously therefore anybody can expect you to be a bad player. However, if you go on a wager match in black ops for example, and you face a person with like 5+ K/D, then usually the person will back out.
I play solo domination, K/D 2.36.
