This is a famous debate amoungst some of the greatest minds trying to find the answer to it. Lets see how well we contribute.

We know we inhirit things from our parents, such as the color of our eyes or the color of our skin. But what makes us who we are? What is the source of our personality? Do we inhirit a timid lifestyle or a thrill seeking one?

Discussion Questions

1. Do you think personality traits are primarily inherited or influenced by environment? What is your evidence?
2. Why do you think nature versus nurture is debated? Do you think it is possible to answer this question definitively? Why or why not?
3. Who might be most interested in resolving the nature versus nurture debate? What effect might a resolution have on our society?
4. If you were raising identical twins, what might you do to make sure that they were unique individuals? Explain your answer.
5. Based on what you have learned, do you think it is possible to change your personality? Why or why not? If so, how would you go about making changes?
6. If you are not a twin, would you rather be an identical or a fraternal twin? Why? What do you think would be some of the challenges of being a twin? If you are a twin, write a couple of sentences about the experience. Is it fun? Difficult? If you have other siblings, is your relationship with your twin different from the relationship with your other siblings? If so, what makes it different?

1. Do you think personality traits are primarily inherited or influenced by environment? What is your evidence?
Partially, but for me it mostly depends on who I want to be. This question depends on will power, if you are not strong enough to fight the people who are surrounding you and wanting you to be mean then you will most likely become mean and so on. My evidence is from experience, when I started to listen to my brother and them I got of my track of intelligent and nice and started to go on the track of bullying and being a smartass. I kid and pal around, but I got back on the right track.

2. Why do you think nature versus nurture is debated? Do you think it is possible to answer this question definitively? Why or why not?
To be honest, I have no clue.

3. Who might be most interested in resolving the nature versus nurture debate? What effect might a resolution have on our society?
Most interesting would probably be the underground scientists and some civilians. I know I am, and all the top scientists are too concentrated on stuff for war and NASA. The effect would probably be a better society, if everyone knew that our surroundings affected us they might change their act so that kids, teens, criminals, and stuff like that would become nice. Not saying all of them are, but I know some pretty fucked up people.

4. If you were raising identical twins, what might you do to make sure that they were unique individuals? Explain your answer.
I wouldn't try to make them unique, because they would already be unique. Every single living thing is unique, whether it being looks or talents or something else, they'll be unique. Also I'd want them to make their own life, not have someone telling them "how to be unique".

5. Based on what you have learned, do you think it is possible to change your personality? Why or why not? If so, how would you go about making changes?
Oh yes, at first I was a religion crazed and super stubborn person. Now I'm not religious and open to everything, then I became stubborn and not religion crazed, and now I'm here again as open to everything.

Fraternal, I want to stay my own person, and not have someone looking like me. Not that I'd have any problems with it, but I just don't want to be identical lul. By the way, this is more of a opinion question.

I just posted those questions to aid the debate, it is a very difficult thing for some people to actually even think about, I don't know exactly why that is.

As to 2, the debate is on going because we have a natural desire to uncover our origins, this debate is a cruicial part of it.

I'll edit this with my views on the debate later on I am currently on my lunch break which is ending.
