Well, I'd just thought I'd go ahead and put this in for I had one on VB 3.8.4 so here it goes (:

Part I:

First, download a source. Go on Google and search 'EvolutionX'. That is my favorite though it needs a work. You can also use 'CheezScape'. A very basic 317 source. EvoX is a 474 source.

If you don't wont neither source, then find your own. However I recommend finding a plain and basic source and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ONE WITH A CLIENT**

This step is fast and easy.
Download this: Only the registered members can see the link.

Part III:

To get JDK, you will want to go to Only the registered members can see the link.
Download JDK 6 Update 20. That is the very latest JDK.
Only the registered members can see the link.

Just download it basically. There is no other steps for this part.

Part IV:

YOU DO NOT NEED THIS UNLESS YOU HAVE WINDOWS XP


K first right click My Computer and go to View System Information. Then go to advanced, then go to Envriomental Variables. Now go to path and classpath.

In classpath variable, replace it with this:

CLASSPATH=C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_20\bin;%CLASSPATH%;

Though if a newer version comes out, you would change the 'jdk1.6.0_20' to the newest version.



When finished, add this to path vairable:


C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_20\bin;
Once again if a newer version comes out replace 20 with that version.

For this part, I will give picture steps, no text. :)

P.S., at one part of the video my mic meses up n' it starts going choppy and stuff. But it's near the end and at an unimportant part.

Part VI:

Alright so I won't have pictures for either of these, I am sorry. But here's what you do(I don't have pictures for this btw because not in the mood to actually do this. Will prob get pics later)

For NetGear;

1. First before you do any of this, go to run then type in "cmd".
If you are using W7, then use the search program list and type in "cmd". Without quotations of course.
When it's open type "ipconfig" and then look at default gateway.

2.Now, type in your default gateway into the the address bar of your web browser(AKA Google Chrome, Mozilla, etc.)

3.Now go to Portforwarding.
In the start box put in 43594
In the end box put the same thing
Now at the bottom where there are lotsa IP's, you should change them to 192.168.1.2

For Linksys.

1.Follow step 1 of NetGear portforwarding

2.K now when you find the default gateway type that into your web browser and then it'll ask you for a log in. Just type in admin with no password, and if that doesn't work then don't enter anything.

3.Click Applications & Gaming, then click Port Range Forwarding.

4.Then in the start box put in 43594 and same with end.
When you're finished, click Save Settings near the bottom of the screen to save your changes. Now make protocol both, then for to ip address make it your IP. You can see that by going to the ipconfig.

Part VII:

To test and see if it is running, go into the source files and open "Run-Server".
Then, go into the client files and go into GUI and change the Ip to 127.0.0.1 and try playing on it. You probably will unless you did something wrong.

Now, edit the source up so it'll be your own!
Do not leech the source please, that is VERY disrespectful to the owner and creator.

Did you check your firewall settings? If you still have problems, pm me and we will fix this. Also, hosting from wireless laptops doesn't usually work, if that's what your trying to do :o

Um are u referring to your router? Theres a beginning and end port. And you put in 43594 for both. Hope this helped.

You need JDK if you have it just right-click on the run server and the compile and then edit on both change the jdk version of both to your version...
Should be like this

"C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_21\bin\javac" -d bin -cp deps/jython.jar;deps/log4j-1.2.15.jar;deps/mina-core-
Change this 21 "C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_21" to your version same thing on compile and if you saved the JDK in another Folder just change the folder name.

i thought if you had no-ip then that is the ip you put in the gui so people could connect.. i have portforwarded and did everything and have no-ip running and stuff so if i put the 127.0.0.1 in the gui and saved and compile people could log in to my server?

That could have to do with a couple of things,
First off the Runeserver may not be able to find your Java path. I've had a few sources in the past where when they can't find the path, they just close.
Second, could be missing some parts in the programming.

Yeah it is.

127.0.0.1 is for your TEST and devo client only. When you're done developing, you either A. Copy that client and change the GUi to the No-IP ip so people can connect, or B. Just change the GUI in that client and then upload. Personally, it's easier for me if I do A.

I do not have your source however you are missing the configuration file "Object.cfg" which is needed for the server to run.
You should either re-download the Source or find another one. Contact the person who gave you the source for the object.cfg file.
If you have moved it i suggest you put it back

EDIT: FIXED THIS PROBLEM.

Highest is 659 i believe. No one has that right now. You are best off with a 562 but those are crap.
