This is a complaint thread.

I am making this complaint about the members of the staff who were involved in selecting the official tutorial of Runelocus. The reason I am doing this, because in simple terms, the judgement was completely biased. First of all, the members of the staff ruled out all submissions by Mediafire, which is absolutely absurd. The least you could have done was given a notice to people who submitted via Mediafire, to resubmit their tutorial. But alas, you completely ruled out over 30 hours of people's hard work, to contribute to the community. Not only that, but also, you may not feel this way but I know at least a few members feel this, that the staff picked members who they are friends with, and who they are close to. The winners were Emperor and Slik. Slik I know, is one of Smudge's best friends on the forums, and Emperor is highly respected in the RSPS community. I did not submit one, nor will I, but I am doing this out of how I feel. It is absolutely obsurd that the staff wasted hours of members work on improving this forum, simply based on the fact they did not want to download from Mediafire.

A few people used Mediafire, Megaupload etc, was going through my PM's and it would of taken so much time to PM everyone, get them to post it to Pastebin, would of ended up waiting a while. To be honest, at 3AM + I didn't really think of posting it on the thread for the fact of me being so damn tired.

This is what Smudge said about the whole thing. He didn't use Mediafire because it would take to long, and he was tired. It just seems like complete disrespect towards anyone who spent long hours doing this work to benefit the community.

Better start bitching to me then eh? Because I'm the only person who went through them to decide.

Just another point I would like to make, if what Smudge says in this is true, the judging was completely unfair. How can you have one person to judge over 40 hours of people's work? I cannot even comprehend that.

Wtf turmoil

That sounds fucking retarded. Not sure if this is true or not. But if they're going to spend hours of work that you asked them to do, virus scan it and see if it's safe.

Anyway on the staffs perspective: Can't you just upload the file using something else?

Interesting how there are already 7 supporters including an administrator. All I am saying is that you spend more time on your decision, rather than doing what you said you did, ruling out all mediafire applications, because you were simply too tired.

Anyone and everyone can enter, just send your guides to myself via Private Message with the full BB-Code formatting etc. After we have enough or the end date is reached, I will put all of the entries onto the Staff Board where myself and the rest of the Staff will pick the one we wish to represent us.
Doesn't say you can't send it as a download link...

JUST REVOTE, this doesn't have to be a big deal at all.

Me, Slik & Emporer have already agreed on a revote. Not for just us, but for everyone who uploaded to a mediafire/megaupload link or submitted a tutorial.

I R SAD

Not saying it has to be a big deal. I just feel that the staff who made this decision, did not respect what people have done for this competition and I really cannot stand the fact that this would be how all of that ended.

I agree it's really shitty that 15+ hours of work all go down the drain just because of a download....

Knew smudge was an ass but didn't know he was that much of one. That's just ridiculous.

Even though I didn't participate in this competition, I find that unfair. Smudge, I like you, but that's just outrageous. No where in the actual thread did you state that you will review the tutorials via sharing websites.

People worked for hours, maybe days for that tutorial to be designed for you to not review simply because they uploaded them via Mediafile, Uppit etc.
Pathetic.

Everyone seems to skip the fact that it was only smudge who went through all the guides. The whole thing was handled wrong, you can't just blame one person for everything.

That's true.. What happened to we are going to post it in the staff section and let the staff vote...
I'm mad bro!

What Slik is trying to say is that it wasn't fair that only Smudge had to vote on the tutorials, but were not really quite sure if that was his decision or anothers.

Requesting this thread to be closed as obviously it has shown how people are feeling about this, and it will just lead to flame. Smudge has resigned, so I think this is enough. I respected Smudge, did not mean for this to make him resign, just for him to rethink how he moderates things around here. Requesting Close.
