Can you include some more information etc. Do you get any errors; do pages 404; do any page load at all?

The Page cannot be displayed

Under that it just tells me to try refreshing/type URL correctly etc...
I believe everyone gets this error if you disconnect your internet and start I.E.

So; Does the laptop actually connect to the wireless network? If so then try clearing the cache / browsing data, if that doesn't work, try a different browser, Google Chrome suggested.

Get Google Chrome, it's better in every way.

See if that helps any.

[Edit]: Nevermind..Just realised you can't get it without accessing the internet :'D

He can download the binary file on his desktop and transfer via USB / Transfer? But I can't remember if Google Chrome requires internet connection whilst installing.

I thought it did, since you only download an installer; wich then installs the last files through connection.
Not sure though. My download only took 2 minutes on a very slow computer..

Well, I can't download/install another browser without internet. So I was wondering if there was a another way to fix this problem. I even tried connecting to the internet with the local connection 2(the wire)....or whatever you call it.

Also when I open Command Prompt and type 'ipconfig', it only says 'Windows IP Configuration'. What does that mean?

Ethernet Cable? Did you try clearing the cache / browsing data? If it didn't work with the Ethernet cable in then their might be a problem with you're router or laptop. On the wireless have you check you have entered the WEP key correct etc?

It can't be my router or wireless, I am using wireless at the moment.

Maybe you need to re-setup your internet.

I'm not any good with computers, so I'm not sure.

Go to: C:\Windows\System32 - Make sure that ipconfig.exe is in there. If it is then good; Do you have any firewalls running? If so disable the firewalls and then try ipconfig.

So the problem is with you're laptop. Only thing I can think of for a reason is if the IP protocol was removed in repair.

It might be this. I tried everything else already.

I just did ipconfig again & this is what that came up.

C:\Documents and Setting\user>ipconfig

Windows IP Congifuration

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

Media State . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected

Ethernet adapter Wireless Network Connection 2:

Media State . . . . . . . . . . : Media disconnected

So you did use that Windows Support Guide? Hmm, Let me have some time to think and look around for some solutions; technically that Windows Guide should of fixed it but it seems to have affected it in no way.

take it to PCWORLD and get them to have a look at it for free of charge, then it would only cost you about $20 or £10 to get it fixed. :)
