What I try to say:

It's realy annoying when people create their own terms, like deob instead of revision.

A revision for example, 317, 319, ect. A deob usually referred to as "317 Deobfuscator" etc, a protocol is basically the same thing as a deob.

It is not deob. It's revision. A "deob" (which isn't even a real word) is a deobfuscated program, and that has really nothing to do with the revision. People are just retarded and throw around words when they don't understand their meanings. A protocol is a pattern/design, usually for networking. So protocol would be specifically referring to the IO protocol like the packet op codes and payloads, the updating flags and payloads for players and npcs, etc.

as trey has already stated the protocol is actually used for communication between the server and client by sending packets/DATA types; these would be things such as login and the server sending it's packets to the client and the client sending it's packets to the server <>
a deob has nothing to do with what revision the client is, it's simply a reverse of obfuscation on the code (byte code)
